The Chief Justice cancelled the order of the Judicial Magistrate and declared the accused innocent

Ranchi, May 29 (HS). The Chief Justice Commissioner of Ranchi Civil Court on Wednesday acquitted the accused in a case related to cheque bounce by quashing the order of the Judicial Magistrate.

The court of Judicial Magistrate DN Shukla convicted Krishna Dev Prasad Sahu and sentenced him to one year of rigorous imprisonment. He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 20 lakh. Against this order, Krishna Dev Prasad Sahu filed a criminal appeal through advocate Preetanshu Singh in the court of Chief Justice of Ranchi Civil Court Diwakar Pandey.

Hearing this on Wednesday, the court cancelled the order of the Judicial Magistrate and ordered the acquittal of Krishna Dev Prasad Sahu of all the charges. The prosecution could not prove that he had given money to the accused.

Advocate Preetanshu Singh said that his client Krishna Dev Prasad Sahu was accused of borrowing Rs 15 lakh from Anoop Singh as a friendly loan. In return, Krishna Dev Prasad Sahu had given cheques to Anoop Singh. When the money was not returned, Anoop Singh got the cheques bounced and filed a cheque bounce case against Krishna Dev Prasad Sahu, but the prosecution could not prove that he had given money to the accused.
