The central government is preparing to give a big gift to the beneficiaries through 'Ayushman Card'

12 crore families will benefit from this scheme
Direct benefit will be available. If it gets approved, then about 12 crore families will get direct benefit from this scheme. Not only this, the government is also preparing to include people above 70 years of age in this scope. According to official sources of the central government, the government is considering doubling the number of beneficiaries of its ambitious Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the next three years.

If this happens, more than two-thirds of the country's population will start getting the benefits of this scheme. Initially, all people above 70 years of age will be brought under its purview. Some of these announcements may be made in the budget session.

Additional expenditure of Rs 12,076 crore every year
If the government makes this announcement, it will cost the government exchequer an additional Rs 12,076 crore every year. Interim Budget In 2024, the government increased the allocation for this scheme to Rs 7,200 crore.

President by Draupadi Murmu During his address in Parliament on June 27, he said that all senior citizens above the age of 70 will now be covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and will get the benefit of free treatment. Government sources say that if people above the age of 70 will get the benefit, then this number will automatically increase to four to five crores.

Big relief to poor families
Ayushman Bharat card has brought great relief to poor families. If any member of the family falls ill, they get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. They will not have to pay a single rupee. Seeing the success of the scheme, Niti Aayog suggested its expansion. It said that about 30 percent of the population does not have any kind of health insurance, they should be given its benefits.
