The advantage of being with the Modi government! Chandrababu Naidu's first demand of Rs 60 thousand crores fulfilled

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi six days ago and his TDP government has started reaping the benefits of being an ally in the Central government. The Central government has agreed to set up an oil refinery and petrochemical hub in the state with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore.

Chandrababu's party TDP is the biggest ally of BJP at the Centre. He met senior officials of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited on Wednesday and discussed in detail the possibilities of setting up a refinery in Andhra Pradesh.

According to ET's report, three places in Andhra Pradesh – Srikakulam, Machilipatnam and Ramayapatnam – have been considered for this. It is believed that a formal announcement may be made in the Union Budget to be presented on July 23.

However, sources say that finalising the locations may take at least two months, so the names cannot be announced in the budget. “The announcement is politically sensitive as these three locations are in three different parts of the state – north, central and south,” said a source on condition of anonymity.

This is being considered a big victory for Naidu as he has an ally at the Centre. He raised this issue strongly in his meeting with Prime Minister Modi and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri.

The Modi government has the support of 16 MPs of TDP. However, at the time of division of the state, a promise was made to set up a refinery in Andhra Pradesh. But, now the way for its implementation is becoming clear. Naidu has come to power in the state with the promise of development of the state.

Naidu wrote a long post on Twitter on Thursday along with screenshots of newspapers in this regard. He wrote, 'Yesterday I had fruitful meetings with BPCL Limited and Vinfast, which can result in large-scale investment and job creation. This is a change from what happened in the last five years, when politics pushed back progress, cooperation was replaced by corruption and destruction replaced development.

This time in Andhra Pradesh, the TDP-led NDA won 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats, which also included the BJP and the Janasena Party. At the same time, the coalition won a landslide victory in the assembly and Naidu took power for the first time since the division of the state.
