The accused of raping a woman in Chatra was sent to jail

Chatra, June 16 (HS). Police arrested the accused of raping a woman and sent him to jail on Sunday. The arrested accused Baljeet Yadav is a resident of Gadiya village of Rajpur police station area. A woman from the same village had accused him of raping her at gunpoint for not repaying the loan. On the application of the victim, a case was registered against him in the women's police station under case number 9/24.

SDPO Sandeep Kumar Suman along with his team reached Gadiya village on Saturday evening and arrested the accused. According to the victim, her husband had borrowed 20 thousand from Baljeet Yadav. They were paying the money with interest every month. Despite this, the accused was coming to the house and threatening them in various ways.

Meanwhile, on 18 May at 7 pm, Baljeet came to her house and raped her at gunpoint. After the rape, he threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it. The victim, out of fear, informed her husband about the incident. On 22 May, she went to the Mahila Thana with her husband and filed an application. Instead of registering a case on the basis of the application, the in-charge of the Mahila Thana sent a notice to the accused.

When no action was taken against the accused, on June 13, he again went to the police station and pleaded for justice, from where he was turned away. The matter escalated. After this, a case was registered on June 14 and the accused was arrested.
