An accused caught in the firing case outside the house of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has tried to commit suicide. He died during treatment. The accused was in police custody along with two other accused. Whereas the fourth accused arrested in the case has been sent to judicial custody on medical grounds.
Mumbai Police on Wednesday said that one of the accused arrested in the Salman Khan shooting case has attempted suicide. He was taken to GT Hospital. He died during treatment in the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Anuj Thapan. He was accused of providing weapons to the shooters.
Thapan was arrested by Mumbai Police on April 25 along with another accused Sonu Subhash Chandra (37) from Punjab. Apart from this, 24 year old Vicky Gupta and 21 year old Sagar Pal have also been arrested. Thapan, Vicky and Sagar Pal were in the custody of Mumbai Police, while Sonu Kumar Chandra Bishnoi was sent to judicial custody on medical grounds.
Information has been received from sources that one of the four accused facing charges under Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) in the case of firing outside Salman Khan's house had expressed his desire to become a government witness in this case. However, the police have not disclosed the name of the accused.
