The accused in rape and POCSO Act case got 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.

Due to the effective advocacy of the police team of Maharajganj police station under Operation Conviction, the accused in the case registered under Rape and POCSO Act in the year 2020 was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Court Special POCSO ADJ-13 after his conviction. Punished with rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 28,000. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police East Shravan Kumar Singh on Tuesday.

He told that in the year 2020, a case was registered against Munnalal son of Late Garibe Kuril, resident of Subhauli village of Maharajpur police station area, under Section 376,506 IPC and ¾ POCSO Act.

Under the “Operation Conviction” campaign of the Director General of Police, effective prosecution was conducted by the prosecution on every hearing date fixed in the court. As a result, the Court Special POCSO A.D.J.-13 Kanpur Nagar, after finding the accused Munnalal guilty in the case, sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 28,000 under Section 376 (2) (i) IPC and ¾ POCSO Act. Which was given to the victim and punished on October 28 with 1 year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2000 under Section 506 IPC.

In this case, ADGC Chandra Kant Sharma, Sub Inspector Suraj Chauhan, Chief Constable Avneesh Kumar, Amit Singh Bhadauria, constable Ravindra Kumar, lady constable Vijay Lakshmi Singh, constable Rajnesh Kumar and advocate Bhupendra Yadav of Maharajpur police station made effective arguments. Due to which the court has sentenced the criminal.
