Ballia, August 18 (HS). The revolution of 1942 came alive in Ballia on Sunday. On the eve of Ballia Balidan Diwas, those who watched the play 'Kranti 1942 at Ballia' written and directed by theatre artist Ashish Trivedi at Ganga Multipurpose Auditorium in Collectorate had the same feeling.

The actors of the literary, social and cultural organization Sankalp presented the role of Ballia in the 1942 revolution in a wonderful manner on stage. During the presentation, the audience and the artists were seen becoming one many times. When revolutionary slogans were being raised from the stage, the audience also joined in. The audience got agitated by watching the scenes like the Bairia martyrdom on 18 August 1942, the firing incident in Ballia Sabzi Mandi on 16 August. When women hoisted the tricolor at Ballia Collectorate under the leadership of Janaki Devi, the audience gallery echoed with applause. When the declaration of independence was made from Kranti Maidan on 19 August 1942, the Ganga Multipurpose Auditorium echoed with the slogans of Bhrigu Baba.

35 artists were trained and prepared for the drama in the 45-day presentational acting training workshop organized under the joint aegis of Bhartendu Natya Academy Lucknow and literary, social and cultural organization Sankalp. The roles of Anand Kumar Chauhan, Anupam Pandey, Rahul Chaurasia, Vishal etc. were commendable in the drama. The drama was decorated with music by Shailendra Mishra and Krishna Kumar Yadav Mitthu. Playback singing was done by Ritesh Paswan. The program was conducted by Umesh Kumar Singh.
