Thanks to Shivraj Chauhan ji, Uttar Pradesh got 6 lakh 18 thousand 482 PM housing and farmers got extra time to sell gram, lentil and mustard produce at MSP, Keshav Prasad Maurya.


A review meeting on effective implementation of agricultural roadmap, agricultural schemes and rural development schemes in Uttar Pradesh was held today under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan at Yojana Bhawan, Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Olakh, Minister of State for Revenue Surendra Diler and senior officials of the Central and State Government were present in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan presented two important acceptance letters to Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. These include approval to extend the period of purchase of gram, lentils and mustard at Minimum Support Price (MSP) by 15 days in the interest of farmers on the request of the state government. Now farmers of the state will be able to sell their produce at support price from June 24 to July 8. This decision will facilitate thousands of farmers to get fair price for their produce and they will get additional economic benefits.

In the meeting, coordinated efforts between the Central and State Governments for the welfare of farmers and further strengthening the agriculture sector were also discussed in detail. Various topics related to agricultural production, marketing, agricultural infrastructure development and increase in income of farmers were discussed. Along with this, a big gift was also announced for rural poor families. Giving a new flight to the dreams of those families who were dreaming of their permanent house for years, 6 lakh 18 thousand 482 new houses have been approved for Uttar Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural. With this approval, there will be significant progress in providing safe and respectable housing to lakhs of needy families of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya said that both these decisions taken by the Central Government are very important for the farmers and rural poor families. The increase in MSP purchase period will provide ample opportunity to the farmers to sell their produce, while the approval of a large number of new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural will give a new impetus to improving the standard of living and socio-economic empowerment in rural areas. In the meeting, achievements and future action plans of various schemes of the Rural Development Department, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural and Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission were also reviewed. Instructions were given for effective implementation of all the schemes and timely delivery of the benefits of the schemes to the eligible beneficiaries.
