Kolkata, 19 November (HS). State run RG Two more witnesses recorded their statement in the court on Tuesday in the case of rape and murder of a female doctor of Kar Medical College and Hospital. The testimony of a total of 14 witnesses has been completed so far in this high-profile case.
The case is going on in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anirban Das, Sealdah, where accused Sanjay Roy was produced for the sixth consecutive day. The matter is listed for hearing in the court from November 12.
This incident shocked the entire country, when on August 9, R.G. The body of a female doctor on duty was found in the seminar room of Kar Medical College and Hospital. Junior doctors staged a massive protest against this heinous crime and demanded justice for the victim.
The Kolkata High Court had ordered to hand over the investigation of this serious case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The case is being heard in-camera, so that sensitive information cannot be made public.
