New Delhi: On Tuesday, two soldiers of TA i.e. Territorial Army were kidnapped by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. The body of one of them has been recovered from the forest and the other soldier managed to escape from the clutches of the terrorists.
Terrorists kidnapped two soldiers in the forest area of Anantnag, but one managed to escape. The dead body of a soldier has been found. Bullet marks were found on him. The soldier was missing since yesterday and a search operation was being conducted by the security forces.
Both soldiers were members of Unit 161 of the Territorial Army. The injured soldier who survived has been treated at a nearby hospital and his condition is stable. While the bullet-riddled body of another soldier, Hilal Ahmed Bhat, was found. This situation was seen on the second day after the completion of Jammu and Kashmir elections.
Based on intelligence inputs, the Indian Army along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and other agencies launched a joint counter-terrorism operation in the Kajwan forests of Kokernag on 8 October. In August this year also, two soldiers were martyred and three were injured in Anantnag. Earlier, four army soldiers and a police officer had lost their lives in an encounter with the terrorists of Kashmir Tigers of Jaish-e-Mohammed.
