Terrible Shia-Sunni conflict in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, 46 dead, fear of death toll increasing.

Islamabad: Shia-Sunni conflict has been going on for the last few months in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an area full of beautiful valleys on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. It has reached its peak in the last few weeks. So far 46 people have died there. But the number of deaths is not clear yet. Therefore, local authorities have blocked main roads, restricting travel. Although Shia-Sunni are attacking each other.

15 people lost their lives in the clash that took place on October 12. Mahmood Ali Jan, a member of the local peace committee and jirga (committee) of tribal elders, said that for the past few months people have been able to travel here only in caravans. (not one time)

Last week, thousands of people took out a peace march in Parachinar, the district headquarters of Kurram. He demanded from the government the security of 8 lakh people living in this area. More than 45 percent of these residents are Shia.

A meeting of Jirga leaders is taking place. Which decides to resolve the disputes arising among Pashtuns unanimously. But, even that Jirga has not been able to resolve this dispute completely.

In fact, more than 2000 people have been killed in this conflict from 2007 to 2011. Not only this, armed groups like Tehreek-e-Taliban-e-Pakistan (TTP) and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have been active in this mountainous region of Khosi Pakinay and Nangarhar provinces of Afghanistan for the last few decades. They target Shia sects.

After violence broke out there last July, both sides had signed a ceasefire on August 2, but violence broke out again in September, in which 25 people were killed.

This dispute and this violence has been going on for years.
