East Champaran, 04 November (HS). Anti-social elements broke the Sirsopta built on Chhath Ghat in Nanhkar village of Raghunathpur Panchayat of Ramgarhwa police station area of the district. Therefore, upon receiving this information, huge tension arose there.

On information, under the leadership of Raxaul SDPO Dhirendra Kumar, Sugauli Inspector Ashok Kumar Pandey, Police Station Head Amarjeet Kumar and Ramesh Mahato along with the police force went to the spot and took immediate action. The police immediately normalized the matter.

On Monday, under the leadership of SDM Shivakshi Dixit and SDPO Dhirendra Kumar, a meeting was held with social and dignitaries of both the communities in Ramgarhwa police station premises. Here the SDM directed both the parties not to do any new work on the disputed land. Said that after Chhath festival, there will be a hearing on the ownership rights of the said disputed land. And instructions were also given to anti-social elements not to go to Chhath Ghat.

It is being told that a dispute arose during the construction of a new Sirsopta on the ghat of a pond located in Sareh of Nanhkar village. People of a community of Amodei village have accused the said pond of damaging the newly constructed Sirsopta by claiming it as their own. According to the villagers of Nanhkar, the people here have been performing Chhath Puja for years at a part of the said pond. In view of the anticipated increase in the number of devotees, two more new Sirsoptas were being built this year. In the evening, the villagers were plastering it when about eight to ten people from Amodei village reached there on a motorcycle and first damaged one Sirsopta themselves and after scaring the people present there, the same people also got the second Sirsopta broken and during this video Also made it. When villagers started coming from Nanhkar in protest, they ran away.

The said pond on which the villagers of Nanhkar observe Chhath fast, the villagers of Amodei call it their private pond since the time of their ancestors. There has already been a controversy regarding celebrating Chhath festival. Panchayat was also held here during the Lok Sabha elections. In which a part of the said pond has been given to the Hindus there for the Chhath festival. Here it was also demarcated by placing a peg. The said dispute arose after the construction of two new Sirsopta. The people of Nanhkar believe that they were building Sirsopta inside the land given to them in Panchayati. But the people of Amodei believe that they were building a new Sirsopta out of the given land. That's why they were stopped from being made. These people have not damaged Sirsopta. This allegation is wrong. According to the information received, if the police and administration had not been active after the incident, then this dispute between the two communities could have taken a bad turn. At present, on the instructions of DM and SP, Sugauli Inspector Ashok Kumar Pandey under the leadership of Raxaul SDM Shivakshi Dixit and SDPO Dhirendra Kumar. ,BDO Rakesh Kumar Singh, Circle Officer Raja Kumar, Police Station Head Amarjeet Kumar, Additional Station Head Vivek Kumar along with hundreds of people including local chief Nasibul Haq, Jaane Alam, former chief Manoj Singh, Mohammad Musa, Sheikh Kalam, Sonu Pachauri, Z Ahmed for peace. The tension was resolved by holding a meeting.
