Ajmer, 9 December (Hindustan Reporter). The 68th SGFI National Tennis Championship (U-17) Girls Competition was successfully concluded at Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer. The gold medal of the competition was won by Kashvi Sunil of Karnataka, the silver medal went to Anandita of Haryana and the bronze medal went to Sejal of Maharashtra.
A total of 106 players and 60 coaches and managers from 22 states and units across the country participated in this five-day competition. Team events and individual singles matches were held. Under the team event, 2 singles and 1 doubles match were played.
The matches were conducted in a cordial atmosphere and sportsmanship. Dr. Padam Singh was nominated by SGFI as the field officer and observer for this competition. Whereas, Naeem Lodhi (Directorate of Secondary Education, Bikaner) took the charge of referee. Tournament referee Naeem Lodhi described this tournament as historic. Mohammad Younis Khan was appointed chief umpire. A team of 15 chair umpires and 10 other officers were working on behalf of the Education Department, Government of Rajasthan.

Kashvi Sunil of Karnataka performed brilliantly and won the gold medal in the individual singles match on the last day of the 68th SGFI National Tennis Under-17 Girls Competition. Haryana’s Anandita won the silver medal despite tough competition, while Maharashtra’s Sejal secured her place by winning the bronze medal.
During the competition, the players displayed excellent sportsmanship and sportsmanship. Kashvi Sunil’s precise shots and efficient strategy helped him win the title.
Ajmer District Collector Lok Bandhu was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the competition. In his address, he praised the enthusiasm and dedication of the players and said, “This competition is a powerful medium to hone sports talents and give them recognition at the national level. Young players are the future of our country and their hard work, discipline and sportsmanship make the country proud. Playing on this stage, all the players not only gave their best but also learned a lot from each other.”
He also praised Mayo College Girls School, organisers, teachers and sports officials for successfully conducting the competition. Lok Bandhu said that through sports, leadership, teamwork and positive attitude develops in the young generation, which proves useful in every walk of life.
Congratulating gold medalist Kashvi Sunil of Karnataka, silver medalist Anandita of Haryana and bronze medalist Sejal of Maharashtra, he said that these players have taken steps towards setting new records in the sports world in the times to come. Ajmer District Collector Lok Bandhu, who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, honored the winning players by giving them medals and certificates.
School Principal Mrs. Neeti Bhalla Saini welcomed the chief guest. In his address, he congratulated and thanked all the participating teams. He said that this competition has proved to be an important platform for young players to showcase their talent. The successful completion of the competition was due to the hard work and excellent sportsmanship of the players and organizers. This event of Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer will be memorable and inspiring at the national level.
It is noteworthy that the teams participating in the competition started reaching Ajmer from December 2, 2024. The registration and draw process for the team event was completed on 3 December. On December 4, H.L. A grand inauguration ceremony was held at Dutt Pavilion, in which Chief Electoral Officer, Rajasthan Naveen Mahajan graced the event as the chief guest. After this the matches of the team event started.
