Ten years rigorous imprisonment to one in hashish smuggling case


East Champaran, 25 April (H.I.S.). 12th Additional District and Sessions Judge cum Special Judge of NDPS Act Court No. 1, Noor Sultana, found an accused guilty in the hashish smuggling case and sentenced him to ten years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional punishment of three months.

Krishna Pandey, resident of Dhobaha of Purulia Nagar police station, was sentenced. He currently resided in Bhansar Office Birgunj Nepal. SSB G Samvay Airport camp in-charge Harlal Talukdar had registered a case at Raxaul police station, in which he had said that on May 27, 2015, at around 3 pm, information was received from the camp that a person was taking drugs from Nepal to Raxaul Railway Station via Duncan Hospital. Is going towards. In the light of information, with the help of police force, a blockade was set up near Duncan Hospital. At around 3.30 a young man matching the described attire arrived. When the police force stopped the said youth and searched him, 4.500 grams of hashish was found in five plastic pockets from him. During the trial of NDPS case number 26/2015, Special Public Prosecutor Dr. Shambhu Sharan Singh presented four witnesses in the court and presented the prosecution case.

After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the judge found him guilty under Section 20(B)ii(C) and 23(C) of the NDPS Act and sentenced him to death. The accused has been in Motihari Central Jail since May 28, 2015. The period of sentence awarded shall be adjusted by the period spent in prison.
