Bathinda : On Saturday, ten year old girl Shabana was mauled by dogs in Bathinda. The girl was admitted to Bathinda Civil Hospital in a critical condition, where doctors said that the girl may have to be referred to AIIMS.
Zafaruddin, father of the injured girl, told that he works with the family at a kiln near Kotshamir. Was working with family on Saturday. Shabana was playing at a distance. Meanwhile, some stray dogs followed him into the field. Hearing the scream of the girl, when he reached the field, people working on the combine also came nearby. Everyone together saved the girl from the dogs. But by then the dogs had scratched the girl badly. They immediately admitted him to the Civil Hospital where his condition remains critical.
It is noteworthy that before this, former Bathinda SSP Naveen Singla and former Mayor Balwant Rai Nath have also become victims of stray dogs. It was said that a dog compound would be built but till date it has not been constructed nor does the corporation seem serious about the problem of stray dogs.
