Dungarpur, 20 February (HS). The Beneshwar fair on the confluence of three rivers has started from Tuesday, Magh Shukla Ekadashi. Thousands of Mav devotees along with Peethadhishwar Achyutanand Maharaj of Beneshwar Dham started the fair by hoisting the seven-coloured flag. During this, the praises of Saint Mavji Maharaj echoed. People took a dip in Triveni Sangam and had darshan of the gods. Thousands of devotees reached the fair right from the first day and enjoyed the fair.
A fair of thousands of Mav devotees started from Tuesday at Beneshwar Dham, the last place of Lord Krishnavatari Saint Mavji Maharaj. The Mahakumbh National Tribe Beneshwar Fair of the tribals at the world famous Beneshwar Dham in Dungarpur district of Vagad region started with the tradition of seven-coloured flag hoisting ceremony at the main Radhakrishna temple of the Dham. Mahant of the Dham, Achyutanand Maharaj, along with Mav devotees, performed special puja with mango peacock and Pallava and worshiped the Saptaranga flag, after which the fair was inaugurated by hoisting the Saptaranga flag on the Radha-Krishna temple of Beneshwar. Aspur MLA Umesh Meena was also present.
A large number of devotees reached Beneshwar Dham on the first day of the fair. During this, devotees took a dip in the holy Triveni Sangam of Som, Mahi, Jakham and had darshan of the Lord in the temples. This fair, which started from Ekadashi, will continue till Panchami. The main fair will be held on 24th February, Maghi Purnima. Lakhs of devotees from across the country and the world including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh will participate in this ten-day long National Tribal Fair. During the fair, various cultural programs, bhajan evenings will be organized by the Tourism Department and sports competitions will be organized by the Tribal Department. At the same time, appropriate police arrangements have been made for the safety of the participants.
