Raipur, 20 July (HS). The landowners of the state will not have to run around to correct errors in the Patwari records. On the initiative of Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, keeping in mind the convenience of landowners, the Revenue Department has now authorized Tehsildars to correct errors in the Patwari records. Earlier, the Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue was authorized to correct errors in the Patwari records of landowners.
As per the wishes of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, prompt action will be taken on the representation for correction of errors in the revenue records and the Tehsildars have been given the responsibility for this. According to the notification published in the Chhattisgarh Gazette, Special Secretary Revenue and Disaster Management, exercising the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 24 of the Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code, 1959 (No. 20 of 1959), the Tehsildar has been authorized by the State Government to correct clerical errors in the name, surname, caste, address of the land owner, his father, husband under Section 115 of the said Code. Similarly, the Tehsildar has been authorized to correct the erroneous entry made in the Kafiyat column in the revenue records, separate the khasras added by mistake, correct the entry related to the land being irrigated, non-irrigated, correct the error in the entry of single crop and multi-crop of the land.
