Varanasi, July 14 (HS). A young girl drowned while bathing in Kakaramta pond of Manduadih police station area on Sunday. By the time she was taken out of the pond, she had stopped breathing. On receiving the information, the family of the girl and the police also reached the pond.
Kiran (15), daughter of Subhash, a resident of Musahar Basti of North Kakaramta, had gone to bathe in a pond located on the banks of Kakaramta railway line with her friends of the same age. While bathing, Kiran suddenly slipped and drowned in the deep water. Seeing this, the children present with her raised an alarm. Hearing the noise, the people present nearby also gathered at the pond. Some courageous youths got into the pond and somehow pulled Kiran out of the deep water. But by then it was too late. She was immediately taken to Bareka Hospital. Where the doctor declared her dead. Hearing the news of the girl's death, there was an uproar among the family members. The family members also reached there. According to the local people, the mother of the teenager died shortly after her birth. She was the only child. Father Subhash works as a grave digger in the nearby cemetery. His daughter was the hope of his life.
