On the call of Jharkhand Officers Teachers and Employees Federation (Jharotef), in protest against the rude remarks made by the State Education Project Director on the uniform of teachers, teachers of all categories of schools in Mahagama subdivision performed their duties barefoot at their workplace today.
Demanding the Project Director to publicly apologize for his rude remarks and to relieve him from the responsibilities of the Education Department, the Secretary of the Teachers' Union, Dr. Suman Kumar said that the Chief Minister should immediately intervene in this matter. District Joint Secretary of Jharotef and Mahagama Subdivision Incharge Murari Prasad Sharma said that the movement will be intensified until satisfactory action is taken. He said that the progress of a state where teachers are not respected is not possible. District Vice President and Subdivision Spokesperson Ritesh Ranjan said that qualitative improvement in education is possible only by giving respect to teachers. The Project Director's remarks have seriously hurt the respect of teachers.
Block President of Mahagama Block Abdul Mannan, Block Secretary Gangesh Gunjan, Block President of Meharma Vishnukant Mishra, Block President of Thakurgangti Piyush Kumar Thakur, Block President of Boarijor Nirmal Kumar Bhagat played a key role in making the protest successful.
