It is said that it takes a lot of courage to leave a top job like IAS. Such courage was shown by Roman Saini, Gaurav Kaushal and Vikas Divyakirti. After passing UPSC, all three worked for some time and then left the job. Roman Saini was an IAS while Gaurav Kaushal and Vikas Divyakirti got other service cadre.

Roman Saini started Unacademy with his friend

Roman Saini was born on 27 July 1991 in Raikaranpura village, Kotputli, Rajasthan.

At the age of just 16, he became a doctor by passing the examination from a prestigious institute like AIIMS.

Roman Saini became an IAS by securing 18th rank in UPSC 2013. After training, he joined the Madhya Pradesh cadre as Assistant Collector in Jabalpur.

Roman Saini later left the IAS and founded Unacademy in December 2015 with his friends Gaurav Munjal and Himesh Singh.

Thousands of youth prepared for UPSC through online coaching institute Unacademy and like Roman Saini, became officers in IAS, IPS and other service cadres.

Gaurav Kaushal started a YouTube channel

Gaurav Kaushal, who lives in Panchkula, Haryana, also followed the path of Roman Saini. Gaurav Kaushal passed the UPSC Civil Services Examination in the year 2012.

Gaurav Kaushal, who secured 38th rank at all India level, became an officer of Indian Defence Estates Service, a Group A service of UPSC.

Gaurav Kaushal's first posting as IDES was as CEO (Ministry of Defence) in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. In the year 2023, Gaurav Kaushal left his job and started an education platform like Unacademy. He takes classes on YouTube.

Vikas Divyakirti is one of the famous teachers of the country. His coaching institute 'Drishti IAS' prepares students for UPSC.

At the age of 23, he first tried his luck in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination in 1996.

After securing 384th rank at all India level, he got a job in the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) in the Home Ministry cadre.

After eight months, he resigned. Vikas Divyakiti could not become an IAS. However, Drishti has made thousands of youth IAS by opening IAS coaching.
