The tenth Patshah Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji built five forts in Khalsa Nagar to make Anandpur Sahib the center of Sikh intellectual scholarship and scholarship, including Anandgarh Sahib Fort, Lohgarh Sahib Fort, Holgarh Sahib Fort, Fatehgarh Sahib Fort and Taragarh Sahib. Was done. Guru Gobind Singh placed Kesgarh in the center and built five forts around it with the temple at Kesgarh. The Khalsa sect was established by electing five lovers on the day of Baisakhi in 1699. There he built five separate forts to combat the hill kings, including the fort Taragarh Sahib located in Tarapur, a village in the hills, just five kilometers from Sri Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa. The purpose of building this fort was to stop the attacks from the Bilaspur state. One could keep an eye on Kot Kehalur by climbing the walls of this fort. The first attack on this fort took place on 29th August in the four-day attack of 1700. After a brief fight, Ajmer Chand fled from the field. This is the holy place which has received the touch of the feet of many divine souls. Here, along with power, devotion was also used.

After reaching Taragarh Sahib Fort, when we look around, we get to see a very beautiful and charming scene. According to historians, due to the solitude and romantic atmosphere of this place, 500 Brahmagyani Singhs had performed penance at this holy place. Bhai Ghanaiya ji was also included among them. The tenth Patshah Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib himself used to come to this great pilgrimage to sprinkle Prasad water on these Brahma Gyani Singhs.

SGPC is taking over the responsibility of management

There was no Gurudwara at the Taragarh Kila Sahib site until the 19th century. There was only one bowl. After this, this great abode came into existence due to the initiative of Baba Jwala Singh Ji Harkhowal. Now Karseva workers have built a grand Gurudwara at this place. Nowadays this great place is being managed by Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. No temple existed at the site of Fort Taragarh until the early 19th century. It is said that there was only one bowl there. In 1985, Karseva Babas started Kar Seva here and today a very beautiful and luxurious building has been built here. It is surrounded by a heavy wall made of stones and strongly fortified. The Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee has entrusted the responsibility of its car service to Baba Dilbagh Singh, the chief sevadar of Dera Baba Sulkhan Singh. A beautiful gate has been constructed outside the Gurudwara Sahib and the construction work of the Langar Hall is going on war footing.
