Today Tankara has become a village with a population of about 22 thousand. Keeping in mind the industrial development of Tankara, it was decided to give the status of Municipality from Gram Panchayat to Tankara. This new Tankara Municipality will function by merging Tankara Gram Panchayat along with two other Gram Panchayats of Morbi district, Aryanagar and Kalyanpar.
Tankara getting municipal status will boost basic amenities including public health and sanitation, road maintenance, clean drinking water, public street lights and underground drainage.
Increase in the area of Himmatnagar Municipality
Further, the society areas of Balwantpura (New), Berana, Kankanol, Hadil, Piploudi, Katwad, Parbada and Savgarh on the periphery of Himmatnagar Municipality area and adjacent to Himmatnagar have been merged into Himmatnagar Municipality.
Not only this, Himmatnagar Civil Hospital will also be merged with Himmatnagar Municipality, this hospital will get better civic facilities, which will increase the well-being of the people.
The Urban Development Department sought permission from the Chief Minister to merge the developed society areas of these villages with the Himmatnagar Municipality area so as to provide basic facilities in the context of future development in the periphery villages as well as systematic development plan in the periphery areas.
