According to the new decree of Taliban, there has been a ban on making windows. Therefore, women will no longer be able to go out of the house. Explaining the reason behind imposing this ban, the Taliban chief said, an order has been issued to ban the construction of windows in areas and buildings used by Afghan women with the aim of preventing obscene acts. There will be no need for open air for women. The responsibility of ensuring compliance with the new order has been entrusted to the Municipal Corporation officials.

Should women not be seen outside the house?

Windows will not be installed in new buildings, according to a statement by Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on the social media platform X. So now women will not be able to communicate with the courtyard, kitchen or neighbours. That means women will not be able to see outside the house.

Women’s presence missing from public places

After the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in August, 2021, the presence of women in public places has stopped. Even the United Nations has condemned this caste-based discrimination of Taliban.
