Mumbai: After the social media video of Talaati taking money from applicant women under the Ladki Behan Yojana in Varkhad, Amravati went viral, now Talaati has been suspended in this case.
In this case, Talaati Tulsiram Kathale has been suspended. District Magistrate Katiyar gave this information on Tuesday.
The state government has launched the Mukhyamantri Ladki Behan Yojana in Maharashtra on the lines of Madhya Pradesh. The Maharashtra government has launched the Mukti Ladki Behan Yojana from July 1. Women aged 21 to 60 are eligible for this scheme and applications are available from July 1 at the Talati office and in urban areas at the Talati office and Kartiwadi Pradhan Bazar Samiti.
Women from Amravati and other districts flocked to avail the benefits of this scheme. It was revealed in Varkhad that Talati Tulsiram was collecting money from women to provide them the benefits of this scheme. Videos and photos of Talati Tulsiram collecting money from women also went viral on social media.
The Chief Minister himself took cognizance of this act of taking bribe from women. Due to which Talati was immediately suspended. Also, Collector Saurabh Katiyar said that a case will also be registered against Talati. Further investigation was also done in this regard.
