Vidisha, May 22 (HS). Collector Buddhesh Kumar Vaidya discussed the action plan while taking initiative to make the city clean in the meeting hall of Purani Nagar Palika on Wednesday. He directed the officers and employees of Nagar Palika to take special initiatives so that Vidisha district can create a different identity in the matter of cleanliness. He said that innovative initiatives should be taken towards making Vidisha city clean so that it can get a good ranking in the cleanliness survey this time. In this work, the participation of the citizens of the city, public representatives, traders, shopkeepers, hawkers etc. is very important, so take the citizens of the city into confidence and make them participate in the cleanliness survey.
Collector Vaidya said that in order to make Vidisha city look neat and clean, the business class of the city, shopkeepers, vegetable and fruit vendors and other traders should keep dustbins, should not spread garbage here and there on the roads in the main market, should not create dirt, for this, they should cooperate in this work of cleanliness by introducing public awareness. He said that there should also be cleanliness in various wards of Vidisha city, common citizens should collect garbage and put it in the garbage vehicles only, for this there should be cleanliness in the colonies also, the municipal officers and employees should work by making an action plan.
The Collector said that if shopkeepers spread garbage and create dirt on the roads in Vidisha city, they will be fined. Along with this, he said that the material like disposable water pouches etc. spreads around the liquor shops in the city and hence, he has instructed the liquor shop operators to keep dustbins in or around the liquor shops and liquor shops. Those selling carts around should also be made aware about maintaining cleanliness. Besides, instructions have been given to take action against DJs who spread garbage like paper clippings etc. on the roads during weddings.
The Collector also gave necessary guidelines regarding the beauty of Vidisha city. He said that outsiders entering the city should be introduced to Vidisha district by the cleanliness and beautification of the city, for this, trees and plants should be arranged in the city. The intersections should be beautified, arrangements for attractive lighting etc. should be ensured so that Vidisha city looks beautiful. He said that for this, a team should be formed by the Municipality and sent to visit other cities including Indore to see how cleanliness arrangements have been ensured there.

Collector Buddhesh Kumar Vaidya reviewed the cleaning of drains in Pandey Colony, Dandarpura of Vidisha Nagari area on Wednesday, keeping in mind that there should be no water logging and drainage in Vidisha urban area. He gave instructions to make cleaning work a priority and to clean drains properly in all municipal areas of the district including Vidisha Nagar, and remove mud and debris. He said that all drains in Vidisha urban area should be cleaned so that water can drain during the upcoming rainy season and water logging situation does not arise and necessary medicines should also be sprayed to prevent the spread of diseases from mosquitoes born due to dirty water in drains.
