Take care of privacy while working online, follow these 10 tips

Today is the time of internet and technology. Most of your work happens on the Internet, so everything you do on the Internet can be easily tracked. What you like, where you are traveling, where you are planning to go, all these details can be found on the internet. Anyone with the right tools can access all your data somehow. Scammers keep track of your similar activities and prey on you based on that. But, there are some steps, using which you can protect your privacy and your data.

Keep the following tips in mind to protect your privacy when doing anything online.

1. Always clear cookies.

McAfee, a company that provides antivirus software, says that users should regularly delete cookies from their browsers. Doing this will prevent your data from falling into the wrong hands. The company has written in its blog that cyber criminals are hacking your browser and checking what you search, what activities you do, so keep deleting your cookies.

2. Set a Strong Password

The password for each of your online accounts should be something that no one can even dream of. Keeping passwords of such difficult combinations is the biggest need of today's times. Use letters, numbers and special characters in your password. Don't use the same password repeatedly or on different accounts. Use a password manager if possible.

3. Keep two-factor authentication

The easiest way to avoid any kind of cyber fraud is to use two factor authentication. By doing this, whenever someone accesses your account, you will be asked for authentication, due to which you will realize that your account is being hacked. Apart from this, you can also use biometrics or pattern instead of password.

4. Check browser settings

Users should adjust browser settings from time to time to keep your online activities private. Apart from this, you can also use the internet in incognito or private mode.

5. Use an ad blocker.

An ad blocker removes suspicious ads during your Internet session, so you can browse smoothly. Also, the ad blocker does not allow you to open websites that share your information with third parties.

6. Use a VPN.

When you use the Internet, keep using a Virtual Private Network to keep your data safe. A VPN acts as a medium between the user and the website or app, making it harder to track you while you browse.

7. Don't give information everywhere.

Do not give your personal information to others. Share limited information about your personal activities on any website or social media so that no one can track you.

8. Update the software.

Whether you're browsing from a phone or a computer, keep your system up to date at all times. The phone manufacturer keeps releasing new security updates from time to time, which repair the bugs present in the security. It keeps your data safe.

9. Never use public WiFi

Using public WiFi is free, but such WiFi is not completely secure. Only through this can scammers access your data. If you must use public WiFi, use a VPN.

10. Close unused accounts.

Close or delete accounts you don't use. Security is less in such accounts, due to which your data can also be leaked from them.
