Take action to stop ragging in higher educational institutions: District Magistrate

Varanasi, 27 June (HS). To prevent ragging of new students in higher educational institutions in the new academic session, the district administration has insisted on forming an anti-ragging committee. District Magistrate S Rajlingam held a meeting with representatives of educational institutions and officers in the Vikas Bhavan auditorium on Thursday evening.

He asked to form anti-ragging committee in educational institutions and hold regular meetings. The District Magistrate said that to curb ragging, the committee should maintain constant contact/communication with the students. Ensure effective action to stop ragging. The committee should be vigilant and no ragging should be allowed in educational institutions.

He said that from time to time students should be called and asked about this issue. Along with this, a complaint box should also be kept so that those students who cannot come forward and tell their complaints can write their complaint and put it in the box. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to stop ragging. Every educational institution should ensure strict compliance of this in its campus.

Chief Medical Officer, ADM City, DCP, Regional Higher Education Officer, along with representatives of Banaras Hindu University, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Higher Tibetan Education Institute, Nazme Ala Aljamia Salafia, Revdi Talab etc. were present in the meeting.
