T20 World Cup trophy was given to those who sleep in cemeteries and bus stands, Virat Kohli revealed

Cricket News: India has won the T20 World Cup 2024 title. Apart from the players, the coach also played an important role in the team's victory. Meanwhile, there was a player in the team's supporting staff who was trying his best to make India a champion from behind the scenes. This is not a player or coach but Raghavendra who defeated the team. Virat Kohli, famous as 'King' in the cricket world, has recently praised Raghavendra, who often spent nights sleeping in cemeteries and bus stands during his struggling days. So let us know today about Raghavendra's struggle and his role in making India a champion.

a life full of struggle
Raghavendra hails from Kumta, Karnataka. He had a special feeling for cricket since childhood. His father was a school teacher. He could not understand his passion and kept asking him to focus on his education day and night, despite his father's disapproval, he could not keep himself away from cricket. As a result, Raghavendra left both his home and education. He had a passion that he wanted to go to Mumbai and learn cricket from Sachin Tendulkar's coach Ramakant Achrekar. After coming to Mumbai, he had no place to live. So he spent the night sometimes sleeping outside the temple and sometimes at the cemetery and bus stand. He tried to play club cricket in Mumbai but failed. But he did not give up and he reached Bangalore from Mumbai. Where he started working as a throwdown at the National Cricket Academy. From here his journey to join Team India started.

Fortunes changed in 2008
In 2008, Raghavendra's luck changed and BCCI included him as the 'training assistant' of the Indian team. He also used to make the players practice hitting the ball on the net. When Raghavendra made Rahul Dravid throw on the nets, he was very impressed. On Dravid's recommendation, BCCI assigned Raghavendra the task of making the Indian team players throw on the nets in 2008. After Dravid, he also made Sachin Tendulkar practice. After the positive response from Dravid and Sachin, BCCI appointed him permanently for this job. He has been continuously associated with the Indian team since 2011 and travels with the team for every tournament.

What is a throwdown?
The purpose of throwdown is for batsmen to practice in the nets. Raghavendra gives every player of the Indian team tremendous practice of fast bowling from half the length of the pitch in the nets. Therefore, every player gets the practice of playing on a bounce ball. It is said that Raghavendra can bowl at a speed of 150. Due to which players get a lot of benefit in playing fast ball.

What did Virat Kohli say?
Virat Kohli, famous as 'King' in the cricket world, while talking about Raghavendra said that everyone is aware of Raghavendra's role as the throwdown specialist of the Indian team. His experience and talent of throwing down in the practice session is tremendous. After practicing on his ball, it helps a lot to play according to the speed and bounce of the pitch of countries like Australia and South Africa. Not only me but all the legends also appreciate it.

Played an important role in the 2022 World Cup
In the match played between India and Bangladesh in Adelaide in the T20 World Cup 2022, India won by 5 runs but Raghavendra played an important role in the team's victory. Actually, during the match, the outfield was wet due to rain. In such a situation, Raghavendra sat on the boundary line and cleaned the shoes of the players with a brush so that the players do not have any problem in running. His feat played a big role in India's victory.

Offers rejected from many countries
Raghavendra has received offers from many countries to work with their teams, apart from this he has also been offered several times by IPL but he has rejected all the offers and has remained associated only with the Indian team.
