Carlos Alcaraz, who entered the tournament with a knee injury, ended all speculation by winning the Indian Wells ATP men's tennis tournament title. Alcaraz, who won his first trophy after winning the Wimbledon Grand Slam last year, defeated Daniil Medvedev 7-6 (5), 6-1 in the final to win the title for the second consecutive year. In women's singles, top seed Iga Swiatek of Poland defeated Maria Sakkari of Greece 6-4, 6-0 to win the trophy.
Alcaraz became the second player after Djokovic to win the tournament twice in a row. Djokovic won the trophy three consecutive times from 2014 to 2016. Women's singles repeated in 2022 season. Sakkari never defeated Swiatek after 2021. Swiatek recorded 15 winners and 11 unforced errors in the match that lasted one hour and eight minutes. Sakkari recorded eight winners and 18 unforced errors.
