Saharsa, 04 May (HS). Voter awareness conducted by District Sweep Cell on Saturday with the aim of ensuring 100 percent voter participation in the third phase of Lok Sabha general elections to be held on May 7 in the district. Under the campaign, a cycle rally was organized from the Collectorate premises.
The cycle rally organized for voter awareness under the leadership of girl students belonging to Kendriya Vidyalaya and other schools was flagged off by Senior Officer Sweep Cell cum Deputy Development Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Nirala, District Sweep Icon Sanchita Basu and other dignitaries present. On the said occasion The Deputy Development Commissioner has appealed to all the voters in the district to enthusiastically participate in the voting process to be held in the third phase on May 7.
He said that every voter should definitely exercise the right to vote given by the Constitution. The franchise provides the voters the opportunity to elect public representatives as per their wish and participate in the democratic process.
He said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, under the minimum arrangements ensured at the polling stations, basic facilities like separate toilets for men and women, ramps, electricity, clean drinking water, tents for shade, awnings are provided for disabled voters and senior voters above 85 years of age. For this, arrangements are also being made for wheel chairs, volunteers and vehicles as per the requirement for such voters. A free boat will also be arranged on the embankment to take the voters to the polling station. All voters in the district have been appealed to participate enthusiastically in the third phase of voting.
