In the light of the instructions of District Election Officer cum DM Saurabh Jorwal, a meeting of the officials of the Sweep Cell was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of DDC Sameer Saurabh, in-charge of the Sweep Cell, regarding the voter awareness campaign. After the meeting, DDC told that in the last Lok Sabha elections, the voting percentage of the district was 63.4, which has been targeted to be increased to 70 percent. A plan has been made in this regard at the micro level.
An awareness campaign is being run by ICDS and Jeevika. Which will be given a comprehensive form. So that people exercise their franchise in large numbers on May 25. For this, awareness teams will be sent to all the 1300 revenue villages of the district. Where people will be made aware about voting by running a signature campaign and taking oath. Mainly this team will also go to all the Dalit and Mahadalit hamlets of the district. Along with this, Vikas Mitra will motivate people to vote impartially without fear and temptation.
The education department will also run a campaign in all the schools and colleges of the district. Where children will be given awareness messages to motivate their parents to vote. He said that instructions have been given to activate 49135 livelihood groups of the district for voter awareness. During the meeting, there were 69 polling stations in the district where the voting percentage in the last election was less than 40%. Emphasis will be laid on running special campaigns there. Assistant Collector, District Public Relations Officer, District Program Officer ICDS, Assistant Director District Disabled Cell, District Program Officer Education, DPM Livelihood, District Coordinator Swachh Bharat Mission Motihari and Junior Election Officer were present in the meeting.
