New Delhi, 25 November (Hindustan Reporter). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal visited Burari assembly constituency, where she took stock of the plight of local residents. He said that despite being home to lakhs of Purvanchali families, the situation of Burari is completely contrary to the tall claims of development of the Delhi government.

Swati Maliwal released a video on social media X and in this post she wrote that the condition of Burari in Delhi is worse than hell. The people of Burari area had called me here to show the condition of their area. Lakhs of Purvanchali people live here. You should come and see the conditions here. The roads are in bad condition.

During her visit, Swati Maliwal directly experienced the poor condition of the area. He saw dilapidated roads, full of potholes, problems with dirty water and sewer overflows in the streets. Heaps of garbage were found scattered everywhere. Local residents informed him about their problems. Many women complained that the area is full of water but there is no water in their taps. Even when water comes, it is not fit for drinking. People are forced to buy water from shops. The residents here also told that there is not a single bus stop in Burari.

Swati Maliwal said, “The people of Burari are forced to live in inhuman conditions while the Delhi government is making hollow claims about the transformation of Delhi. Sanjeev Jha, who has been MLA from Burari for three consecutive terms, has completely failed in providing basic facilities.”

He appealed to Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi to visit Burari area and solve the problems of local residents. Maliwal further said, “The Delhi government has made big promises to improve unauthorized colonies but the reality is completely different. Development is limited to papers only.”

Burari residents have demanded immediate action to resolve their grievances and appealed to the Delhi government to give priority to genuine development rather than publicity stunts.
