Swara Bhaskar on CJI: Actress Swara Bhaskar, who expresses her views on the problems of the country, has commented on the issue of worshipping the Chief Justice of India along with Modi.
Swara Bhaskar has criticised Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud for inviting PM Modi to his residence for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Swara Bhaskar said that CJI DY Chandrachud has time to do Ganesh Puja with PM Modi. But not for justice. A video of Swara Bhaskar is going viral on social media, in which she has raised questions on the judicial system of the country.
In the video, Swara Bhaskar is seen saying that the judge does not have time to hear the case of Jawaharlal Nehru University alumnus Umar Khalid, who has been in jail for four years, but CJI DY Chandrachud has time to perform Ganesh Puja with PM Modi.
According to reports, Swara Bhaskar questioned the priorities of the CJI and said, what are you afraid of? You have time to worship with PM Modi but don't have even 20 minutes for justice? Swara says that I also raised my voice and participated in the protest, but I was not sent to jail..why?
Because I was born in a Hindu family. The authorities probably found it inconvenient to arrest me. He further said that Umar Khalid and others were easy targets because of their Muslim identity. You can call Muslims terrorists. They must have thought that if the daughter of a former naval officer was identified as a terrorist, it would be too much.
Swara Bhaskar also criticised Delhi High Court judge Amit Sharma, who recently recused himself from hearing Umar Khalid's bail plea.
She questions his decision and asks, “What are you afraid of? Are you not educated and don't pay taxes? Aren't you betraying the people of India by isolating yourself?” Meanwhile, Swara said that just words don't do justice, action has to be taken.
