Swadeshi Jagran Manch made 10-point demand before WTO meeting

Kolkata, 23 February (HS). Before the organization of the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Swadeshi Jagran Manch has passed a resolution with 10-point demands. Representatives of 164 countries from around the world will participate in the WTO event to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from 26 to 29 November. Union Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is going to represent India in this. Before this, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has proposed 10-point demands. It demands that the right to food of the poor in agricultural India should be restored. Apart from this, subsidy for fisheries should also continue. Carbon tax should not be allowed in the name of environment. Emphasis should be laid on simplifying visa rules for people in the service sector to move around the world and do business. Apart from this, emphasis should also be laid on getting GI tag for Darjeeling tea and wine and spirits. Besides, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has demanded to simplify the global import-export of life-saving medicines and to focus on promoting traditional knowledge and biological resources. The organization has demanded to take steps and reduce customs duties to thwart China's wrong and malicious intentions in foreign investment.

In this discussion session organized in Kolkata, Dr. Dhanpat Ram Aggarwal, National Co-Coordinator of Swadeshi Jagran Manch said that all these demands are being sent to the Central Government. Many representatives of Shri Bada Bazar Kumar Sabha Library were present in the program.
