Guwahati, September 13 (HS). Local parties and organizations have expressed strong displeasure over the incident of attack on officers on duty in Kasutali of Sonapur in Kamrup (Metro) and have demanded strict punishment for all the accused involved in the incident.
Local parties and organizations including the All Assam Tribal Union's Demoria branch, All Assam Students Union's Demoria branch took part in a meeting held at the office of Demoria District Tribal Union in Sonapur on Friday. Activists of all the organizations unanimously demanded strict action against illegal citizens.
Local organizations have said that they will hold protests on Saturday against the attack on police and government officials by suspicious citizens. The local organizations have given the suspicious citizens a deadline of 12:00 on September 16 to leave Demoria. The organizations have demanded that the suspicious citizens be removed from the factories of Demoria and the local citizens be reinstated.
