India won the T20 World Cup 2024 title. In the final of the tournament played against South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav took a brilliant catch and changed the whole game. Surya got Africa's star batsman David Miller caught at long off in the last over of the match, when Africa needed just 16 runs in one over to win. Later there was a lot of controversy over this catch. Now the South African star has raised a new controversy by raising his voice on this catch.
Tabrez Shamsi shared the video
Africa's star spinner Tabrez Shamsi talked about Surya's catch through social media. Sharing a video, Shamsi wrote, “If he had used this method to check the catch in the World Cup final, he would probably have been given not out.” In the video shared by Shamsi, some people are seen playing a local cricket match. After taking a catch on the boundary line in the match, it is measured in different ways.
Shamsi clarified
As soon as Shamsi's post went viral, people started trolling him, after which the African star clarified that it was just a joke. He clarified, “If some people do not understand that this is a joke and someone cries, then I will explain to you like a 4-year-old child. This is a joke.”
Surya's catch turned the match around
In the final played in Barbados, South Africa needed 16 runs in the last over to win. The responsibility of the last over was given to Hardik Pandya. Left-handed David Miller was present at the crease. Miller swung the bat hard on the first full-toss ball of the over. As soon as the ball was going out of the boundary towards long off, Surya ran and stopped the ball from crossing the boundary. Surya took the catch and bounced the ball outside off and then ran back and took the catch. After Miller was out, the task became very easy for Hardik and he gave victory to Team India.
