New Delhi: Indian cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20 match. Team India has given a chance to two players to debut in this match. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy started their international careers from this match. Both impressed with their performance, but before the match, team captain Suryakumar Yadav 'punished' both of them.

India bowled first in this match. Mayank, who came to bowl his first over, did not give a single run in this over and bowled a maiden over. Mayank gave 21 runs in four overs and took one wicket. Nitish bowled two overs in which he gave 17 runs, but could not take any wicket. Nitish got a chance to bat and he scored unbeaten 16 runs in 15 balls which included a six.

Both of them came to know a day before that they were going to debut. After this the team management punished both of them. Actually, a day before the match, the team asked both of them to give a speech and both of them had to give the speech while standing on the chair. Both of them did the same. BCCI has uploaded a video on its website in which both are talking about their debut. It can be seen in this video that a day before the match, both of them were made to stand on chairs in the dressing room.

Often, as a punishment to children, teachers make them stand on their bench and give them a book to read or something to memorize. The way Mayank and Nitish gave speeches sitting on chairs, it seemed as if both of them had been punished like school children.

What did Mayank say on the bowling of maiden over?

On bowling maiden over in the first over, Mayank said that he was not thinking anything like this in the beginning. Mayank said, “I was not thinking that I would bowl a maiden over in the first over. I just wanted to be in that moment and enjoy that moment. I am very happy to bowl the first over maiden.”
