Surrendered Naxalites and 322 soldiers voted through postal ballot

Dantewada, 11 April (HS). A total of 380 employees of the district police have applied for voting through postal ballot. In which a total of 322 policemen and security personnel have voted through postal ballot on Thursday. While 52 policemen and security personnel will still cast their votes. The surrendered Naxalites also voted through postal ballot after joining the mainstream, expressing confidence in democracy and republic. Surrendered Naxalites had also cast their vote in the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections 2023. Under the leadership of District Election Officer Mayank Chaturvedi, employees and security personnel are creating awareness among the people to increase the voting percentage.

It is noteworthy that preparations are going on in full swing for the first phase of voting on Bastar Lok Sabha seat. Out of the 12 assembly seats in Naxal affected areas of Bastar division, elections are to be held by combining nine assembly seats for Bastar Lok Sabha seat. This includes Dantewada, Narayanpur, Bastar, Chitrakote, Jagdalpur, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Keshkal and Bijapur. Whereas elections will be held on Kanker seat in the second phase.
