Appearance: Chief Minister Gaumata Nutrition Scheme; Assistance amounting to Rs 67.56 lakh approved for 9 cow sheds of Surat. A meeting of the District Level Committee under the Chief Minister Cow Nutrition Scheme was organized in the conference room of the Collector's office under the chairmanship of Surat District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi. In which assistance of Rs 67.56 lakh was sanctioned to 9 cow sheds with less than 1000 cattle in Surat district. While a proposal was made to the state government to provide assistance of Rs 2.70 crore to Agakhol, Tharoli and Bhestan branches of Surat Panjarapole and Shri Om Nandeshwar Gaushala Pune having more than 1000 cattle.
More than 1200 cow shelters and more than 200 cages are thriving across the state through government and donor grants. Stray cows are brought to these cowsheds and cages and carefully monitored. For the protection of cows, the state government has implemented Mukhyamantri Gaumata Poshan Yojana. Under this scheme, the government will provide a fixed amount of assistance to the cow shelters.
Out of the applications received from Gaushalas and Panjrapoles of Surat district, assistance of Rs 67,56,750 was sanctioned to 9 Gaushalas with less than 1000 cattle. There are 2,475 cattle in these nine cow shelters. The assistance amount to these cow shelters will be deposited by Gujarat Gauseva and Gauchar Vikas Board in the bank account of that institution through DBT. While the state government was proposed to provide assistance of Rs 2,70,37,920 to Ahakhol, Tharaoli and Bhestan branches run by Surat Panjrapole and Shri Om Nandeshwar Gaushala Pune with more than 1000 cattle for 9,904 cattle.
