Supriyo Bhattacharya | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Ranchi, June 03 (HS). Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Central General Secretary cum Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya claimed victory of India Alliance on 10 out of 14 Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand. He raised serious questions on the role and impartiality of the Central Election Commission. He also said that June 4 is the test of the Election Commission. In the sense of how it maintains impartiality and credibility. Because, only this will prove that democracy is still strong in the country and is an example for the whole world.

Supriyo was speaking at a press conference at the party office in Harmu on Monday. He alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner has insulted the decency of speech in the press conference held before the counting of votes. He also said that the Election Commission had closed its ears and eyes during the entire election campaign. Supriyo said that the Chief Election Commissioner had said many good things while announcing the dates of the Lok Sabha elections. He had also made a poetic appeal but later democracy was strangled. The Election Commission locked the complaints received against the ruling party in a drawer. However, it is a blessing that even in the scorching heat, 65-66 percent people exercised their franchise.

Supriyo said that the voting figures are also suspicious. Because, the actual figures were released very late. Counting is tomorrow and the final figures of the 7th phase of voting have not come out yet. He said that counting is on Tuesday. This noble work should be conducted without any hindrance or in favor of any particular party. The matching and counting of postal ballot votes should be done in a transparent manner. There is no need to save it for later.

Supriyo said that there should be no power cut during counting. Arrangement for generator should be made from the beginning of counting. In case of power cut, EVMs will have to be restarted, which will lead to chances of tampering. He also said that after every election, EVMs are programmed afresh. Therefore, chances of tampering cannot be ruled out.

Bhattacharya said that the Supreme Court has ensured that if any candidate has any doubts about the counting, he can get it resolved by paying a fee. We request the Election Commission to ensure that all candidates are satisfied with the results before declaring the final result. If there is any doubt, then match it with the VVPAT. The Election Commission is responsible for this.
