New Delhi, 14 November (HS). Jharkhand government has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. A bench headed by Justice BR Gavai has stayed the Jharkhand High Court order for a CBI investigation into the Jharkhand Assembly appointment scam.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer said that after the order of the High Court, the CBI had started preliminary investigation in the case. After this, the Jharkhand government had challenged the order of CBI inquiry into the appointment scam in the Assembly in the Supreme Court. This is the second petition challenging the CBI investigation into the assembly appointment scam. Before this, Jharkhand Assembly had also filed a petition.
In the matter related to illegal appointments in the Jharkhand Assembly, a petition was filed in the High Court alleging that rules were violated in the appointments in the Assembly. After this, the High Court had ordered a CBI inquiry into these appointments.
