Supreme Court reserves decision on Kejriwal's bail, know when will the decision come? | News India

Supreme Court on Kejriwal bail plea: The bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is embroiled in the liquor policy scam, was heard in the Supreme Court today. The Supreme Court has now reserved its decision on the petition challenging the bail and arrest. However, the court may pronounce its decision on this issue during the next hearing on September 11.

The arrest was made based on the investigation

During the hearing in the Supreme Court, ASG on behalf of CBI said that the magistrate had given permission to arrest Kejriwal on the basis of investigation. In such a situation, the writ petition challenging the arrest is not appropriate. No constitutional right has been violated in the arrest.

45 crores were sent through hawala

ASG said that Kejriwal only approved the liquor policy. About Rs 45 crore was sent from Goa to Delhi through hawala. This amount was used by Aam Aadmi Party in Goa elections. The High Court also studied the charge sheet and gave its verdict. If the judge grants bail to Kejriwal today, it will demoralize the High Court. However, Kejriwal's lawyer called these arguments unfair and baseless.

The ED made the arrest on March 21

It is worth noting that the national convener of Aam Aadmi Party was arrested by CBI on 26 June. Earlier on 21 March, he was arrested by ED in the money laundering case. Kejriwal has got interim bail from the Supreme Court in the money laundering case, but he has not been released from jail due to his arrest in the CBI case.
