The Supreme Court on Tuesday banned bulldozer action. The Supreme Court said that no action should be taken without our permission. The next hearing of this case will be on October 1. However, the Supreme Court also admitted that the directive will not apply to illegal construction. Also, guidelines will be issued soon after hearing all the parties.

The court said that no property will be demolished by bulldozer anywhere without its permission till October 1. The court also clarified that the order will not apply to public roads, footpaths and any unauthorized construction. During the last hearing, the Supreme Court had also raised questions on the action of bulldozers.

During the hearing on Tuesday, the Supreme Court directed the states to stop glorifying bulldozer justice. The court said that encroachment should be removed only under the legal process. Earlier also, during the hearing, the Supreme Court had made strong comments on bulldozer justice.

The court said that doing so by government officials is tantamount to 'weakening the law' of the country. The Supreme Court said that involvement in a crime cannot be the basis for demolishing someone's property. It is the court's job to decide whether the accused is guilty or not. On September 2, the Supreme Court had also made a similar comment and sought guidelines to stop the bulldozer action.
