Supreme Court postpones hearing of farmer leader Dallewal’s fast case till January 2

The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned till January 2 the hearing on the matter of compliance by the Punjab government on its order to hospitalize farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal. Dallewal has been on a fast unto death for the past 36 days, with his main demands including a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

Punjab government asked for more time

From Punjab Government Advocate General Gurminder Singh told the court that three more days are needed to implement the Supreme Court order given on December 20.
