New Delhi, September 13 (HS). The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Uttarakhand government while hearing a petition demanding an independent investigation into the murder of a nurse from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand. The court has issued a notice to all the states on the demand for guidelines to investigate the complaints of missing girls and working women.
Actually, on the evening of 30th July, a nurse was returning from her duty at a private hospital in Rudrapur to her home in Vasundhara Colony in Bilaspur, Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to the Uttarakhand border. Meanwhile, she suddenly disappeared. On 31st July, the nurse's sister lodged a missing report with the Rudrapur Kotwali police. On 8th August, the nurse's body was found in a skeletal state on Vasundhara Road in Bilaspur police station area. After which, the Rudrapur police station disclosed the case on 14th August and said that she had been raped. After which she was murdered.
The petition has demanded an independent investigation into the matter. The nurse's family says that they are not satisfied with the investigation done by the Uttarakhand police so far. Therefore, they want an independent investigation by some other agency.
