He is the only God who appears to us in person every day. What is Suryashtakam?

As the name suggests, ‘Ashtakam’ means eight lines or eight stanzas. This is an ancient text sung in praise of Lord Surya. Its story is very interesting. It is told in the Puranas that Lord Shri Krishna’s son Samba once suffered from leprosy (a serious skin disease). Then, through this Suryashtakam, he pleased Lord Sun and got relief from his disease.

From then till today, it is believed that whoever recites it with a true heart, the Sun God takes away all his troubles.

  2. Planetary Peace: If the Sun is weak in your horoscope or other planets are troubling you (which we call ‘planet-pain’), then by reciting this every morning the planets calm down and the obstacles in life start getting removed.
