Sunak withdraws support from two party candidates

There is a lot of upheaval in Britain before the general elections to be held on July 4. The names of many leaders and workers of the country's ruling Conservative Party have surfaced in the betting.

It is worth noting that this controversy was raging for quite some time. The opposition was demanding the dismissal of the accused.

Taking action after the names of party candidates appeared in the betting, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has withdrawn the party's support from both. A Conservative Party spokesperson confirmed the report and said that Tory candidates Craig Williams and Laura Saunders will no longer be supported by the party.

Craig Williams was contesting from Montgomeryshire in Wales. While Saunders Glyndwr was contesting from Bristol North West in England.

A Conservative Party spokesperson said: “Following an initial investigation into the matter, we have decided that we cannot support Craig Williams and Laura Saunders as parliamentary candidates at the next election.”

He further said that we have checked with the concerned commission in this matter that this decision does not interfere with the investigation being conducted by them. A spokesperson of the party said that the investigation is completely independent and ongoing.
