Sukma police arrested five Naxalites with explosives

Sukma, August 8 (HS). Five Naxalites have been arrested from two different police stations in Sukma district. Four Naxalites from Keralapal police station and one Naxalite from Jagargunda police station have been arrested with explosive material. The arrested Naxalites had come with the intention of planting IEDs to harm the security forces by doing recce of the security forces. In arresting the Naxalites, joint action was taken by the district force and DRG force from Keralapal police station and district force, DRG and 165 battalion CRPF from Jagargunda.

A joint police party of district force and DRG, led by Inspector Govind Singh Yadav from Keralapal, accompanied by Sub Inspector Om Prakash Yadav, left for the forest hilly area around Samsetti, Pariya, Bagdeguda, Gadgadi for anti-Naxalite operation. During the operation, some suspicious persons in plain clothes started hiding on seeing the police party coming towards them near the hillock on the kutcha road from village Samsetti to Pariya. 04 suspicious persons were caught by cordoning off the area. The arrested accused Podiyam Muka father Podiyam Budhra (DAKMS President), Padam Muda father Padam Supa (DAKMS member), Madvi Laxman father late Madvi Deva (DAKMS member) and Padam Deva father Hidiya (militia member), all residents of Patelpara and Madopara village Sirsetti police station Keralapal district Sukma, have accepted working on the above mentioned posts in the Naxal organization. About 20 meters of red and black electric wire, 5 A-size batteries, 3 detonators in a membrane from Padam Deva, 3 detonators in a membrane from Madvi Laxman, 1 tiffin bomb weighing about 3 kg was recovered from their possession. On being questioned about the above materials, they said that they had the intention to harm the security forces by planting IEDs on the routes of the security forces and that they had come with the intention of planting IEDs when they got the opportunity. As the above acts were found to be against the law, a case was registered against the arrested accused in Keralapal police station under Crime No. 21/2024 Section 4,5 Explosive Substances Act and after taking action and arrest, they were presented before the court today, Thursday and sent to jail on judicial remand.

One arrested from Jagargunda area- Jagargunda police station security forces' joint party had left for Naxal patrol and search towards village Rajpenta, Kamaram Achkat. During the operation, some plainclothed suspicious persons started hiding after seeing the police party approaching them. The police party surrounded them and caught 01 suspicious person and other 15-20 suspicious persons fled taking advantage of the dense forest and bushes. On interrogation of the arrested suspicious person, he revealed his name to be Madkam Motu, father Hunga, age 35 years, resident of village Timapuram Raut Para, police station Chintalnar, district Sukma. Tiffin bomb weighing about 2 kg, 2 pieces of gelatin rod, cordex wire about 2 meter, electric wire about 2 meter, 2 pieces of pencil cell, 2 pieces of detonator were recovered from the possession of the suspicious person. On interrogation, he told that he works as a militia member of village Timapuram in the Naxal organization and that he had come to plant explosive material IED on the unpaved road with the intention of killing the security forces coming from Camp Jagargunda after doing recce. As the said act was found to be illegal, a case was registered against the Naxalites in Jagargunda police station under crime number 17/2024 section 4, 5 of Explosive Substances Act and after taking action against Madkam Motu, he was produced before the court today on Thursday and sent to jail on judicial remand.
