Sukant Majumdar's allegation – Hindu voters were threatened during voting in the border area – News India Live

Kolkata, 26 April (HS). West Bengal BJP president and party's Lok Sabha candidate from Balurghat, Sukanta Majumdar, on Friday claimed that voting was more or less peaceful elsewhere, but in Itahar Assembly constituency, supporters of local Trinamool Congress MLA Mosraf Hussain intimidated Hindu voters. However, Hussain rejected the allegations and said that Sukant Majumdar was making such baseless allegations due to fear of defeat. “Itahar has always had a record of peaceful voting,” Hussain claimed.

Surprisingly, sources in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal said that not many complaints were received from Raiganj, even though the Election Commission was keeping a special eye on this Lok Sabha constituency in North Dinajpur district.
