East Champaran, September 10 (HS). Under the Chief Minister Sugarcane Development Scheme, a one-day farmer training program was organized by HPCL Biofuels Limited, Unit-Sugauli in Turkaulia Zone Sapahi on Tuesday.
Sanjeev Kumar, Sugarcane Manager of Sugauli Sugar Mill, said that the main objective of this program is to make sugarcane farmers aware of new scientific and technical information to increase the per acre production of sugarcane in Bihar. 160 sugarcane farmers were trained in the training camp. Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Pusa scientists Saurav Dubey (Plant Pathologist), Satish Chandra Narayan (Plant Breeding Scientist) Vedvrat Kumar (Assistant Director-Sugarcane Development, Government of Bihar), HPCL Biofuels Limited Sugauli General Manager Vijay Kumar Dixit were present as trainers in the camp. They told about the importance of soil testing as well as the start of testing facility in the mill, Deputy General Manager (Sugarcane) Shailendra Kumar Mishra told about the importance of sugarcane seed, Sugarcane Manager Harishchandra Srivastava told about increasing sugarcane production per acre, the camp was conducted by Sugarcane Manager Sanjeev Kumar.
Sugarcane officers Amit Kumar Singh, Abhay Nath Pandey, Santosh Tiwari, Ajay Sharma, Niraj Rai and farmers were present on the occasion. A demo of agricultural equipment was also shown to the farmers on the occasion.
